Artfully Walls: Intimacy Under the Wires

Sheets and towels drying in the breeze in Barcelona, Spain.

A few months ago I wrote a post about a new favorite art source of mine: Artfully Walls.  I recently ordered three amazing prints from Artfully Walls that I am dying to get framed, although I have to wait a few more months (until I move into a bigger place…at the moment my walls are full!).  They are bright colorful prints that are going to look amazing!  Best part?  Artfully Walls pieces are unique and don’t cost a crazy amount!
I love the hint of leopard in this photo.  This photo was taken in Jaffa, Israel.
While I’m typically drawn towards paintings or sketches, this new series on Artfully Walls really caught my eye.  The series is called “Intimacy Under the Wires,” and all of the photographs by Sivan Askayo are of laundry drying in the breeze.  It’s an intimate view of a personal chore, and the colors on display for all the world to see are beautiful and alluring.
Wouldn’t it be fun to twirl while wearing a skirt like this?  This photo was taken in London.
In a perfect world, I’d have a huge sprawling house with a designated laundry room with a sink and room to fold clothes (rather than a stacked washer and dryer in a closet in the bathroom like I currently have).  I would display one or two of the photos from this collection in that laundry room because I think they are a whimsical way to make a mundane chore a more beautiful task.  If you’ve neglected to “pretty up” your laundry room you’re missing out on a great opportunity!  I feel like I’d immediately smile if I saw these billowing petticoats and colorful linens as I walked in the room to tackle some dirty laundry.  Every room in your home should make you smile, even if it’s just a room for daily chores!

Really like these photos and your idea to hang them in a laundry room! Also, I've never thought about how intimate laundry can be, but it can really tell you so much about someone. Do they have children? Does their clothing represent their religion? What about clothes specific to certain regions of the world? I love just thinking about it.

What a unique perspective! I love the photos you featured on your blog. I have a laundry closet rather then a laundry room, but I think a couple of these prints would be wonderful in it!
