It’s the weekend! Do you guys have anything fun planned? Tom has his longest triathlon workouts this weekend so I’ll be on kid duty and I’m not sure what we will do. He’s training for the Half Iron Man in Kona (70.3 miles long) in June and I’m so impressed by his dedication to training despite all of the distractors. Hopefully the pool and some sunshine are in our future! The photo above has nothing to do with this post but it’s a sweet moment Tom captured a few nights ago when we were down by the ocean. I love this big boy of mine!
outfit details:
This past week I did my very first real sponsored Instagram post and I thought I’d share a little about the product here too in case you’re in Hawaii and like coffee like I do. Getting a few sponsored posts (from companies I truly like that have products I think you’ll like too!) was my goal when I relaunched my blog because I’d love to be able to help support my family while also pursuing this creative outlet. This is the first step in that direction and I appreciate all of your comments and likes on my post. Your support is humbling and I’m so thankful for this little community! The post was promoting Cuvée Coffee’s new canned cold brew that is now available in Safeway stores in Hawaii. Cuvée is an Austin based coffee shop and my favorite flavor is the horchata (vanilla and cinnamon). It tastes nice and creamy yet it doesn’t have any cream in it (they use nitrogen to make it creamy, which is fascinating to me). It was delicious and I’ll definitely become a regular consumer!
Anyway, here are some things I’ve bought lately that we already love or things that should be getting here in the next few days that I’m so excited to try.
Beautycounter Nourishing Cream Exfoliator
Y’all know I’m a huge believer in Beautycounter, and I’ve heard this cream exfoliator makes your skin feel really smooth. It has jojoba beads in it so it sloughs away dull skin without being abrasive. Can’t wait for it to get here!
Striped Rash Guard
I saw a woman wearing this navy and white striped rash guard last summer when we were at Fripp Island and it was so cute I went up and had to ask her where she got it. It’s been on my wish list for a long time (it’s been backordered for months!) and I finally decided to get it now that it’s fully back in stock. It’s so classic and pretty and perfect for protecting your skin from the sun. I sized down to an XS because I heard it ran a bit large. It still has a little room so it’s not tight like a fitted rash guard, though I think I would have been happy with a Small as well.
Girls’ Lemon Print Rash Guard
This print was available last summer at J.Crew and I bought myself a bikini and loved the pattern so much. An Instagram friend named Lauren (she’s an essential oils guru and has adorable style if you’re looking for a good new person to follow) told me it’s now at J.Crew Factory and I quickly scooped this rash guard up for Caroline. Also comes as a one-piece and a tankini.
Boys’ Surfboard Rash Guard
Continuing with the sun protection theme, I bought Jack this surfboard rash guard. The colors are simple and it’s mostly navy so I figure it’ll go with most of his swimsuits. So cute!
Anchor Baseball Cap
I love a good baseball cap and wear them all the time. This one is a steal and it’s nice and simple and I can’t wait for it to get here on Tuesday.
Girls’ Striped Sunhat
This hat is sooooooo adorable. Caroline kept it on her head for a surprising amount of time and I just couldn’t stop smiling every time I looked at her. It’s oversized but manageable. Under $14 and it makes for the perfect beach babe photo while also protecting from the sun!
Canvas Espadrille Wedges
These are without a doubt my favorite wedges ever. I’ve owned them in so many colors and unfortunately my feet grew with pregnancy and my flax/cream colored pair no longer fits me, plus they’ve gotten pretty dirty after 8 years of use. I just ordered a new pair and can’t wait to wear them again. They go with every summer look imaginable! They’re a much better price than most other wedge espadrilles that are quality made.
Beautycounter Romantic Eyeshadow Palette
Beautycounter makes the best eyeshadow that is beautifully pigmented and stays on really well. I own the classic palette and have loved it, and I’m excited to try the pretty pinks and purples of this romantic palette!
Have a great weekend everyone!
