It’s been a little while since I’ve shared some random recipes, clothing, articles, etc. that have caught my eye, so today I wanted to share some of those things with you. I’m hoping to make this a new series for Friday mornings, so let’s get started!
Friday Favorites 3.1.19
This harissa salmon recipe is fantastic! I only put the harissa mixture on top and not in the baking dish because we only had a little bit, but the low heat way of cooking the salmon (275 degrees for 35 minutes in the oven) made it incredibly delicious. I always get nervous when I cook fish and I think this will be my new go-to technique for cooking salmon. I think it would work with whatever seasoning you want to use, but if you like spicy food then definitely give this harissa salmon a shot!
I bought Jack his first sequin flip shirt and he is obsessed (see above). It’s a dinosaur sequin flip shirt so it’s perfect for a boy (or dino-loving girl!) and he loved wearing it to school the other day. Super affordable and it washed well just by turning it inside out (I let it air dry though). These are the shorts he’s wearing in the photo above and these are his shoes. (Also see my other favorite warm weather kids shoes here.)
These rattan earrings are dreamy and would be so perfect for spring and summer! I’ve fallen in love with neutral statement earrings and my raffia pair is my go-to these days but unfortunately they aren’t currently available. I’ve heard Tuckernuck is bringing them back for this summer though, so make sure you move quickly if you want them because the sell out fast! (Here is the navy pair I also have.) This rattan pair of earrings is the best alternative I’ve found though, and they’re about half the price. I recently bought these rattan earrings from Amazon and I can’t wait to wear them. They’re big, but very lightweight. Here is a smaller version with a tortoise shell accent that I bought too.
I always love seeing what my friend Kait of Communikait is cooking on Instagram Stories because it’s always veggie forward and full of flavor. The other day I texted her because I had a craving for Thai food but wanted to use up the food we had in the kitchen. She sent me this recipe for Sweet Potato Noodle Pad Thai and I used it as a guideline and added shrimp. It was incredible and Tom loved it too!
Speaking of Kait, she recently put together a blog post on the best books to pack for vacation, and she included recommendations from a number of her blogger friends…me included! If you’re heading on a beach vacation, girls’ trip, couple’s getaway, poolside, plane ride…there is a book suggestion for you. I recommended anything by one of my favorite author’s, Mary Kay Andrews. Her books are so much fun to ready and they almost all take place in Savannah or in the Southeast, which of course is near and dear to my heart since I’m from Georgia. There is typically a murder or mystery involved, as well as a love story, but it’s primarily a story of a strong female character overcoming a hardship in a fun and entertaining way. The protagonists are often creative types…bloggers, chefs, party planners, florists and the books are just so much fun. Head on over to Communikait if you have a trip coming up and need a good read!
My friend Amy of The Ever Co. shared this blog post a while ago on her time management hacks, and it is such a good read. Definitely worth checking out no matter what phase of life you’re in.
Not sure what our plans will be but I think we’ll go to Waikiki one day which should be fun. What about you? I hope you all have a great weekend!
Thanks for including me in here! I love Jack’s sequin flip shirt and that pad Thai recipe is such a favorite around here. I love that you can pretty much customize it however you want! That works for the sauce too, since some people aren’t peanut-lovers, you can reduce the PB and so on. I’m so glad you liked it!

Your recipes always inspire me to eat more veggies, so thank YOU!!
I picked up a NASA sweatshirt and a dinosaur tee that have the sequins on them! Thanks for sharing, I love it when there’s cool boy stuff… my Mom buys most of Kenny’s basics, so I get to splurge on nerdy and fun things I like!

I totally agree! Fun boy things are tough to find sometimes, it’s certainly easier to find cute girl stuff (which is not so good for my bank account haha). I bet that NASA one is adorable too! Thanks for taking the time to read, Aubrey!
Jack’s shirt is so fun!
