A few weeks ago I hosted a low key brunch in the backyard with one other family and we had the best time enjoying a returned sense of normalcy in the nice spring weather. Entertaining is always fun for me but sometimes it stresses me out because I tend to want to do it all and make it all perfect. I eliminated the stress this time by relying on good ole Trader Joe’s for pretty much everything. I also made this easy cinnamon pull-apart bread using biscuit dough and my friend Brooke brought some delicious pastries from a local DC bakery. Below is the menu, as well as some photos from the “event”! I bought these self-sealing water balloons for the kids to play with after we ate so that the adults could enjoy mimosas in peace and it turned out to be a great event for all of us!

The white serving pieces were affordable Homegoods purchases, as was the outdoor tablecloth and the seagrass wrapped vase (here is a similar one from Target for $10). The outdoor oriental rug and striped offset umbrella (don’t forget the stand) are incredibly affordable yet beautiful Amazon purchases. Wrapped stemless wine glasses are from Hobby Lobby. Faux bamboo flatware is from Amazon, as are the striped napkins! The white plates are my favorite plates we use most every day, and the melamine gingham plates are a few years old from Walmart. My dress is old from H&M, mules are Etsy, raffia earrings are my favorite lightweight neutral statement earrings.

Trader Joe’s Frozen Quiche Lorraine
Trader Joe’s Frozen Corn and Green Chile Pepper Quiche in a Tortilla Shell (delicious, especially with a little hot sauce)
Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread (I couldn’t find my bundt pan and it still turned out well)
