I’ve been living in this Arlington apartment for just over a year now, and I’ve redecorated my dining table many many times (as you can see here and here). I tend to start feeling uninspired if things don’t change very often, so whenever I see something at a store that speaks to me (that’s also a reasonable price), I seize the opportunity so that I can shake things up a bit once I get home.
I saw this bright ikat table runner at World Market this past week, and quickly scooped it up. I’m a sucker for ikat and bright colors, so I knew it would be perfect! I’m also glad that they made it as a runner rather than a table cloth, because I feel like my marble top table is just too pretty to cover up!
Once I laid down the runner I knew I’d need some bright accessories to go with it. I switched out my hurricanes for these taller pillar candle stick holders that I had by my bathtub, and dug out some colorful vases and votive holders that were in the cabinet. As the final touch, I added some lovely and cheerful gerber daisies. Flowers are always a no-fail choice in my opinion! I also decided to grab my $5 cactus from Home Depot to round out the look.
Now my table is bright and summery (and ready for a fiesta if you ask me!). If your decor has been feeling a little stale go buy something small with lots of colors. It’s sure to inspire you to shake things up a bit, all without breaking the bank!
I love it! I've missed visiting…have been having computer & internet issues…no fun. Don't you just love World Market? I have to be careful there and at Target too ~ my budget is much smaller than my desires. 🙂
I'm so glad you're back! I had lots of computer issues too and just switched to a newer and much faster computer. Nothing like a frustrating computer problem to make you want to pull your hair out. I am crazy about World Market and Target. Both are very dangerous stores for me! Thanks for reading!
