10 Random Things

I haven’t written one of these posts in a while, so here are 10 random things that have happened recently, that I’m currently loving, or things that have caught my eye!

  1.  I recently had my eyebrows dyed for the first time and I LOVE it! My eyebrows are quite light and I typically fill them in with brow gel or pencil, though I hate being able to see product on them. Having them darker already when I wake up is such a game changer! Apparently they fade pretty quickly, so I ordered this kit on Amazon to keep it up myself now that I know it’s pretty simple to do.
  2. I ordered this cute tennis bag on Amazon and it’s really cute! It’s under $40 and feels very high quality. I got the white with navy and green stripes, though it looks like that colorway is not in stock at the moment.
  3. I am so excited for summer gardening. This year I plan to tear out many of the plants that came when we moved in and I want to plant hydrangeas all along the side of our house. Do you have a favorite type of hydrangea that gets morning and early afternoon sun and late afternoon shade? I want to be able to cut blooms for flower arrangements and I’d love for the plants to be large to cover our big black side of the house. I also just ordered a Generous Gardener climbing rose from David Austin Roses and I plan to plant it on the front of our house so I can train it to grow over our guest room window. I’m also anxiously awaiting getting started on our window box! Photo of my window box from last year is at the top of this post.
  4. I’m intrigued by the whole linen vest trend for spring and summer. I don’t own one yet but am eyeing this scoopneck vest, this striped vest, and this classic linen vest. Which one do you like best?
  5. I’m really loving Teddy Swims’ music these days. The songs are so catchy! Fun fact: we went to the same high school in Georgia, though I was older and we weren’t there at the same time. He and my brother were there at the same time though.
  6. I’m starting a true vegetable garden again this year, after just using containers last year. I can’t wait to go more than herbs and tomatoes! We don’t have a ton of yard space but I think I can get away with a small square raised bed without ruffling the feathers of our townhouse HOA. Fingers crossed.
  7. One of my favorite influencers, Sarah Tucker, recently partnered with Teleties for the prettiest hair tie collection I’ve ever seen. They were so kind and sent me the collection and I’ve been wearing the hair ties nonstop since they arrived! I’m growing my hair back out and I am excited to wear the cute blue, green, and white clip once it’s a little longer.
  8. I think I found my swimsuit for this summer with this blue and white toile one piece! There is even a matching option for little girls. I prefer 2 piece options for my girls because it’s so much easier when they need to use the restroom, but there is a girls one piece as well. Truthfully, I typically buy Walmart or Target swimsuits for the kids but occasionally I splurge on J.Crew and it’s always worth it.
  9. I recently finished reading The Heiress and I really enjoyed it. It’s a quick and easy read. I’m currently reading Remarkably Bright Creatures and I am listening to Educated. Both are fantastic. Have you read any of these?
  10. This past week I attended a workshop hosted by Beneath the Service. If you’re a veteran and ever have the opportunity to attend one you’ve got to go! It was a great way to refocus and help with the identity shift that is often overlooked when you leave the military.

I read Remarkably Bright Creatures last summer and loved it! Just added your other two books you mentioned to my For Later list.

After you’re done with it, watch My Octopus Teacher on Netflix! Octopus are AMAZING creatures.

My hair stylist actually told me about that last week and I’m definitely adding it to my list to watch once I’m finished! Thanks for recommending it too!
