A fabric shaver is a little handheld tool used to remove pilling fabric. It works on knits, leggings, gloves, wool, coats, sweaters, pillows, furniture, and more. It gently pulls the pills up and the rotating blade shaves them off. I’ve had my fabric shaver for a few years and it is under $15 and on Amazon! Below are my two favorite pairs of gloves. How to Use a Fabric Shaver
It’s simple to use a fabric shaver to remove pilling! Just flip the switch and lightly press and move over the fabric where the pills are. I tend to rotate in small circles, going back over places that are stubborn. The fabric pills will get sucked up and cut off by the blade on the inside, and then all the debris will be collected inside. Just be careful with thin fabric, as you can sometimes get holes if you use too enthusiastically. I’ve never had it happen but always use the lower setting on more delicate fabrics.
