This is our first Christmas in our home and it’s been really fun figuring out how I can use our existing Christmas decorations in the new space. I’ve tried to hang onto everything that I can, though next year I’m sure I will make some changes or additions to make things fit a little better. I don’t want to rush it though, so this year I’ve only added a couple of things like faux cypress garland for our stair rails, Christmas trees in the kids’ bedrooms, mini preserved boxwood wreaths for the back of the bar stools, simple marble stocking holders (secured in place with this museum wax…it’s a must!). I also bought affordable winter artwork to use on our Frame TV. I purchased this 4 pack and this individual scene. One thing I’m often asked about this time of year is the placemats. I grew up using cork placemats so when I saw these plaid placemats last year I knew I had to get them. They wipe down well and are the perfect option for kids and adults alike. I do tend to place these smaller white silicone placemats on top of them though because my kids are notorious for spilling milk and food and the lip on the placemat helps contain spills. The plate wall has since been taken down because I had the dining room wallpapered since taking these photos and I’m afraid to put that many holes in the wallpaper. It was fun swapping out some of the blue and white plates for Christmasy plates though. Here’s a look at how I decorated for Christmas this year! Our bedroom decorations are in this previous post, and our powder room decorations are in this post.

Thank you! It was handed down from my dad’s great uncle who was a grad from the 1930s!
I love that! I’ve seen it around online but until I find it in the wild… Congrats on the new house!
