When I find a pair of sandals I love, I look forward to wearing them summer after summer. As a busy mom of 3 flats are my style of choice, so today I wanted to share the 5 pairs of sandals you’ll see me wearing all summer long. These are all quite neutral so they can be worn with almost any outfit, depending on formality level.

I used to wear the water-friendly EVA Birkenstocks but once I tried these sandals I promptly made the switch. I prefer these slip-on water-friendly sandals for a few reasons: the footbed is textured so if your foot is wet it doesn’t slip around and make the “toot” sound that it makes in the plastic Birkenstocks. This definitely saves you from some awkward moments! They also are narrower so they look a bit more sleek. These are true to size (I’m an 8 and the 8/9 size is the most comfortable, though I also can also wear the 7/8 size), they’re only $45, and they come in a bunch of colors. I have them in white, gold, and baby pink. My mom has them in gold and loves them too! 2. Raffia Slides–
I loved the look of the Carrie Forbes version of these sandals, but could not stomach the $300+ price tag. Enter this Etsy dupe that is handmade in Morocco for $39 plus shipping. They are very comfortable and easy to wear, and they go with everything! I love them so much and may order a second pair just as backup. These raffia sandals are true to size (I’m an 8 and wear the 39). 3. TKEES Flip-flops–
I quit wearing flip-flops a few years ago just because I realized there were more stylish options out there that look a bit more elevated than a plastic pair of flip-flops. BUT…then I discovered TKEES and fell in love with flip-flops all over again! These are leather so they aren’t water-friendly, but they are chic and understated and you can choose practically any color to match your skin tone, which I think adds to the chic-factor. Plus they’re only $55, so not too crazy expensive. I wear the “Pout” color of TKEES sandals. 4. Metallic Birkenstock Sandals–
I fell in love with Birkenstock sandals back in 2018 when I was a mom of two little ones living in Hawaii and training for a marathon. I lived in sandals year-round and needed a pair that had good support because I spent so much time running and training for my big race. I love the metallic Birkenstocks because they look a little more feminine than the traditional colors. I’ve had the Copper (looks like rose gold) version and once I wore those to shreds I swapped to the silver pair, which I’ve had for a number of years. These are great when I know I’ll be chasing the kids around at the playground or walking a long way around the city.
5. Brown Sandals with Bamboo Buckle–
My brown sandals for the past 4 summers have been a cute pair from Walmart, but I decided it was time for an upgrade so I opted for these brown sandals from J. McLaughlin. I absolutely love all of the shoes I own from J. McLaughlin and I couldn’t resist the big bamboo buckle on these sandals. These run true to size. I will say that the first time I wore them they weren’t super comfortable on the top of my foot, but they’ve gotten more and more comfortable with each subsequent wear.
