There’s something about the new year that always prompts me to want to get the home more organized and buckle down on meal planning. Perhaps it’s because December is so full of sensory overload that it makes me crave a little simplicity in my home and in my life once January rolls around. In the first week of January I purchased an air fryer from Walmart, and since then it has become my new obsession.

I’ve used it practically every day since then, from cooking shrimp (from frozen!) and tomatoes for a quick pasta dinner, to heating up chicken nuggets for the kids, to roasting diced sweet potatoes…it’s a tool I never knew I needed that I now can’t live without! Here are some of the things I’ve cooked in it recently:
We don’t have a lot of countertop space in our kitchen so if something is going to take up permanent residence it needs to be worthwhile and aesthetically pleasing too. My air fryer is from Drew Barrymore’s new line called Beautiful, and it’s only available at Walmart. This air fryer certainly lives up to its name! The controls are all touch screen and they only illuminate when you’re actively using it. In addition to the “air fry” option, you can also use it to roast, dehydrate and reheat food. I love that this air fryer comes in white and gold- it’s definitely not your traditional kitchen appliance! You can head to my “Air Fryer” highlight on Instagram if you’re interested in seeing how I’ve been using it. There’s no preheating time, food cooks in a flash, and the texture is better than you’d get if you cooked it practically any other way.
Walmart has so many products with sleek clean lines these days, so if you’re looking for a home refresh (no time like after Christmas!) then be sure to check out Walmart for the perfect affordable items that your home is missing. This 15 piece white and stainless steel cutlery set with knife block would look great on a countertop, these wood and white silicone cooking utensils would be beautiful in a crock next to the stove, and this rattan lamp would add the perfect coastal nod to any tabletop. Walmart is even carrying an organizational line by The Home Edit now! We have a big life change coming up in the next few months and I know that Walmart will be such a handy and affordable source to help us get organized in style!
