I normally change up my makeup routine each day depending on how I feel, but lately I’ve stuck with the same routine because it’s really quick and easy and creates a nice glowing look that is perfect for this time of year! Most of these items are Beautycounter (my favorite source for clean beauty products) and are included in the current Black Friday 15% off sale (plus free shipping on orders over $50). The sale ends November 29th! The Golden Hour all-in-one Palette is a limited time only set for the holidays and stock is running low, so if you’re interested in it then act quickly! Please be sure to add “Katie Vail” as your consultant before you check out!
The monogrammed hat I’m wearing here was gifted by the Monogram Corner, my favorite source for personalized gifts (as seen in my small business gift guide). It’s such a fun and preppy way to dress for cold weather! My striped turtleneck is a few years old but I linked some similar ones below (this one is the most similar). A quilted vest is a classic that will last you year after year, and demi boot crop jeans are my favorite style right now. Great with sneakers and loafers and ankle boots too. I seem to wear these brown suede sneakers by Tretorn daily now, they’re incredibly comfortable, perfect with fall outfits and they run half a size large, so size down half a size. This is the preserved magnolia leaf wreath we have and here is the little 3 foot flocked tree (we have another one inside too).
outfit and decor details:
Skin Twin Featherweight Foundation in Medium 340– This lightweight foundation comes in 18 different shades and it goes on really smoothly. I’ve been using the Artis Oval 7 brush to apply it and it goes on with an almost airbrushed look. This is the set of 3 brushes that I have, currently on sale!
Skin Twin Creamy Concealer in Medium 2– This new concealer from Beautycounter is comparable to the cult favorite Tarte Shape Tape concealer, only cleaner! I’ve been loving it and have been blending it with the Artis Oval 3 brush.
Mattifying Powder– I set my makeup using the translucent Mattifying Powder, which helps absorb shine and creates a smooth even look. I use the Fan Powder Brush to apply it (currently out of stock, unfortunately).
Golden Hour All-In-One Makeup Palette– I have been loving this all in one makeup palette since I bought it a couple months ago! I dust a little blush on my cheeks using the Angled Blush Brush and then I apply the illuminating highlighter across my cheeks, bridge of the nose and forehead for a nice warm glow (using the fan powder brush). This palette is expected to sell out very soon, so a good alternative for the blush would be the Guava Satin Powder Blush and a good alternative to the highlighting powder would be the Halo Luminous Powder Highlighter. The 4 eyeshadows in the palette are beautiful and I add those if I want a more polished look…but lately I haven’t been wearing anything other than eyeliner and mascara on my eyes.
Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeliner in Brown– The one makeup product that isn’t Beautycounter that I still love is this cheap eyeliner. It glides on so smoothly and truthfully the Beautycounter eyeliner just doesn’t compare. It’s waterproof so it stays on well and doesn’t smudge. I line my top lids and flick up the ends for a subtle cat eye look.
Volumizing Mascara– I love the large brush on this mascara and it creates nice lush lashes!
Color Define Brow Pencil in Medium– I used this brow pencil to fill in my brows and then use the spooly end to blend it all in.
Beyond Gloss in Magnolia Shimmer– This is hands down my new favorite Beautycounter lip product. It has a beautiful pinky mauve color with a subtle shimmer that’s perfect for daily life. It leaves your lips feeling soft and not sticky, and it’s scented with organic and responsibly sourced vanilla.
