Halloween during a pandemic with little kids just calls for some spooky and fun Halloween decorations, don’t you think? We recently added some outdoor Halloween decorations to our front porch and yard and it truly brings so much joy and levity to our children and anyone who passes by! Never really thought I’d decorate my house for Halloween, but here we are and I’m loving it. (Please don’t mind the weeds that you see in the wide view photos! Apparently we stink at keeping up with yard maintenance lol. As a reminder, here is what the front porch looked like when we first moved in, I still can’t believe the transformation!

Outdoor Halloween Decorations
My friend Michelle Smith of Iron and Twine was my inspiration with the spiders, and Chassity of Look Linger Love was my inspiration for the bats! The bats were only $7.99 on Amazon (for 80) and the kids and I had fun putting them on and around our front door. I plan on adding some to their playhouse too. The blue and white garden stool was a flea market find but here and here are two similar options from Amazon!
We have 2 XL plush spiders and 3 large plush spiders and I hung them using black zip ties and 3M hooks. Just make sure your surface is clean and dry before trying to add the hooks. I only used zip ties on the stairs so it was nice and simple to hang them.
I also added a large spiderweb on the tree, and it was super easy to hang because it comes with a hook at the top and stakes at the bottom. Then I zip tied one of the large plush spiders to it!
I also let each child pick out a silly animal skeleton at Target. Jack chose the Chihuahua and Caroline chose a $6 unicorn. They seem to get played with often and end up in our house sometimes too, but at least the kids are having fun with the season during this odd time in the world.
As far as flowers go, I hung 4 mums where we previously had hanging ferns, and I added a few potted mums and decorative cabbages on the stairs. The galvanized jack o’lantern is a few years old but here and here are some similar current options. I also sprinkled in some pumpkins, naturally. Caroline likes to line the small ones up at the top of the stairs, not sure why haha

The blue bistro set is one of my favorite Amazon finds ever! It’s just over $100, comes in 7 different colors, comes fully assembled and it looks and feels high end. Can’t recommend it enough if you’re in the market for a nice and classic bistro table and chairs.
Did you decorate for Halloween this year? I’d love to hear what theme you went with!
