If you’ve been following along for a while then you know that I am a big Beautycounter fan. (So much so that I’ve been a consultant for over 2 years now!) The majority of my personal care products and makeup are Beautycounter and I love knowing that they’re clean and I love seeing that they actually work. Read my full Beautycounter “why” blog post here. I’ve been pregnant or breastfeeding for close to 6 years straight and because of that I need products that are safe for me (and the child I’m sustaining/growing), but I want products that work too, because if I had to go 6 years without effective products I would not be a happy camper! And that’s where Beautycounter comes in! This clean beauty brand is the best of both worlds because their products are screened thoroughly and over 1,800 harmful and potentially harmful ingredients have been banned from their ingredient list, yet they also sell skincare products that really do help with fine lines, melasma, dullness…just to name a few. Their makeup products have staying power and the shades and color options really do rival top Sephora-based brands. Speaking of, for the past few months Beautycounter’s top selling skincare products have been available in Sephora too. This limited-time partnership has helped the company reach a larger audience and furthered the company’s mission to get clean beauty into the hands of everyone.
That being said, Beautycounter prices are on the higher side, especially if you are used to purchasing drugstore products. Over the past couple of years (and now that I’m well into my 30s) I’ve realized that skincare really is a worthy investment though, and since making the switch I can visibly see the results from this investment (my review of the Countertime line can be seen here). We all like saving a little money though, so today I wanted to share a couple different ways to save money on Beautycounter products! All the links in this post will take you to my Beautycounter site so that I’ll be able to assist should you have questions or need help with your order. Or just add “Katie Vail” as your consultant before you check out!
First off, Beautycounter rarely has percentage off sales and they usually happen 1-2x a year. More often they’ll do gift-with-purchase promotions and those are typically around major holidays.
However, from now until October 31st you can use code CLEANFORALL20 for 20% off if you are making your first Beautycounter purchase! (Full product regimens and collections and holiday sets are excluded.)
Top products I’d recommend for first time buyers (or anyone who hasn’t tried them yet) would be:
Wearing Sheer Genius Lipstick in Raisin
Overnight Resurfacing Peel ($63)- this has faded my melasma, smoothed fine lines, helped with pore size and has absolutely transformed my skin and makes me look fresh-faced even when I’m an exhausted mom zombie. It’s great for all skin types and you use it every other night on a clean face, 3-5 minutes before you apply your moisturizer.
All Bright C Serum ($79)- this ultra-potent 10% Vitamin C serum is the daytime way to get glowing skin. Use it daily after any serum you already use and it’ll help reduce the appearance of dark spots and also protect against new ones. It also helps protect your skin from environmental stressors, helping to give you a youthful complexion. I’ve been using this since the spring and love that it has helped fade my skin discoloration even more!
Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer ($45)- If you like a little coverage but don’t want to wear foundation then look no further than Dew Skin! This tinted moisturizer has SPF 20 and gives you a nice dewy finish and the perfect amount of coverage. I wear this almost daily! (My shade is No. 2 unless it’s the height of summer and I’ve spent a lot of time outside, in which case I like No. 3.)
Counter+ Lotus Glow Cleansing Balm ($72)- This is my savior on lazy nights. This one product removes makeup and cleanses your face, and then you can also use it as a hydrating overnight facial mask. This stuff is amazing! It also helps boost luminosity and makes your skin smoother.
Countertime Tripeptide Radiance Serum ($79)- I use this serum in the morning and in the evening when I don’t use the Overnight Resurfacing Peel. It helps fade fine lines, increases skin firmness and elasticity, and increases your skin’s radiance. It has an ingredient that is a plant-based alternative to retinol and it works so well and is safe too!
Sheer Genius Moisturizing Lipstick ($32)- Looking for a moisturizing and totally wearable lipstick? You’ve got to try the Sheer Genius lipsticks! They go on like a balm and they’re scented with vanilla and come in the most beautiful colors. Petal, Rose, Lily, Twig and Raisin are my favorites.
Beyond Gloss ($29)- I’m a big fan of lipgloss these days and Beautycounter’s Beyond Glosses are moisturizing and provide you with beautiful shine that isn’t sticky! My favorite shades are: Bare Shimmer, Magnolia Shimmer and Dahlia.
Countertime Ultra Renewal Eye Cream ($69)- I am a big believer in a good eye cream these days, and for anti-aging I love the Countertime Ultra Renewal Eye Cream. It decreases puffiness and the appearance of dark circles, it smooths crow’s feet and makes your eye area look brighter. I also dab a little above my top lip, around my mouth “parentheses,” and on the little fine line between my eyebrows. I love this product so much and it has visibly made a big difference in all of these areas that are the first places to get fine lines.
Charcoal Facial Mask ($49)- This mask helps remove impurities, smooth and calm your skin, and it gentle exfoliates and absorbs oil too. I try to use it every 2 weeks and my skin always feels so clean afterwards.

If you’d like to save money on every purchase though, you need to sign up for the Band of Beauty! This annual (no strings attached) membership costs $29 to sign up and for the next year you will:
- earn 10% credit on ALL orders, regardless of size (if you spend $100 you’d earn $10 to use next time, etc.)
- receive free shipping on orders over $100 (even consultants don’t get free shipping)
- and you’ll also get a free welcome gift (a $43 value, seen above) if you spend over $50 on products at the time of signing up. The welcome gift included smaller sized packages of the Overnight Resurfacing Peel and the Charcoal Facial Mask. Two of my very favorite products!!
- receive member exclusive offers that happen a few times a year
If this is your first time shopping you can use the discount code above AND sign up for the Band of Beauty membership to take advantage of both offerings. It’s the perfect time to clean up your beauty routine! One of the best things about Beautycounter is that they also have a 60 day no questions asked return policy. So if something doesn’t work or if you simply don’t like something then you can easily return it for free.
As always, if you have questions please feel free to email me at stripesandwhimsy@gmail.com and I’ll be happy to help! If you decide to shop, please be sure that Katie Vail is selected as your consultant before you check out. That’ll allow me to help you if you should have any questions or problems with your order.
