I’ve been all about woven neutral accessories this summer. Anyone else? I tend to gravitate towards them because they add some interest and texture to an outfit yet they don’t make too much of a statement because they’re neutral in color.
Woven Neutrals and New Sunnies
I still love my beloved Birkenstocks, but when I “dress up” I wear these woven sandals. They’re perfect with every outfit and comfy too! (Though nothing is as comfy as birks.) Plus they’re only $22.99!
My woven headband is such an easy hairstyle update that works when your hair is down as well as up in a bun. It’s become a staple since I bought it a few weeks ago. And because it’s natural in color it goes with everything! It’s only $9.99.
I’m a sucker for a basket bag, and this woven straw shopper with navy ribbon handles is my new favorite! It has striped lining and an interior pocket too. Only $41.95, which is less than half of it’s original price. Plus if you shop through today (7/21/20) you can get an extra 10% off with code 10JULYUS. I partnered with Joules USA about a year ago and have been a huge fan of the company ever since. Such classic British pieces and they always have lots of striped styles too!
I’m not wearing the earrings in this photo but my new favorite neutral statement earrings are these raffia ball earrings! They’re super lightweight and so fun to wear. And as far as Tuckernuck goes, they’re pretty affordable at $48.
I’ve been a big fan of Mohala Eyewear (a female owned Hawaii-based small business that donates a portion of every sale to send girls to school through Room to Read) since February and they recently sent me their newest pair of sunglasses, the Lana in Amber Tortoise. They’re a feminine and delicate cat eye style and they’ll transition nicely to fall and winter too because of the darker tortoise color! Use code katiev to save 10% on all pairs of sunglasses from Mohala Eyewear!

Dear Katie,
I never comment on people’s blogs but I feel compelled to send you a quick comment. I started out looking for wicker purses from JMclaughlin online and I stumbled onto your site. I find most of the lifestyle/ fashion bloggers come across as fake with pictures that are overly staged and give impractical tips. However, your blog comes across as so genuine with practical tips. Love the candid pics of your family and the silly faces that your kids make in the photos. Love your preppy outfit and decorating tips! What a tragic backstory you have too. Your story is one of resiliency and I hope that you can find true peace. I live in Libertyville, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago, along with my 2 kids, Emma and Will and my husband, Peter, and our cat McLovin.
