10 Spring Outfit Ideas

Spring is on its way and even though we get warm weather year round in Hawaii I can’t help but share in the excitement.  Maybe it’s also because this year I’m not pregnant and I’m yearning for the little wardrobe refresh that I wasn’t able to partake in last year.  Either way, below are 10 spring outfit ideas using some affordable new spring pieces as well as older items sourced from my closet.  I have to say the maxi dresses are my favorite.  What about you?  (And for those of you who may be wondering, when I wear dresses I almost always wear a pair of bike shorts underneath so that I can chase after my older kids without worrying, and now that I’m breastfeeding I plan to continue wearing shorts so that I can pull my dress up and feed Tate.  Not ideal but at least it’ll allow me to continue wearing most of my wardrobe!)

white maxi dress - white tiered maxi dress - white midi dress - affordable white dress - white dress with ruffles - target white dress - spring fashion - espadrille wedges - jcrew factory espadrilles - white dress with pockets

What I’m wearing above:

  • White Tiered Ruffle Midi Dress:  I love this dress so much!  It’s lined so it’s not sheer at all, and it has pockets too!  Comes in a number of colors.
    • Sizing: true to size, I got my normal size small (I’m 5’5″)
    • Price: $34.99
  • Espadrille Wedges:  These espadrille wedges has been my favorite style of heel/wedge for probably 8 years.  They’re the best and never go out of style.  They’re comfy too.  I’m wearing the navy pair here but they come in a number of colors.  Flax (a light khaki color) is a must have and can work with any warm weather dress.
    • Sizing: true to size, I’m wearing my normal size 8
    • Price:  currently on sale for $53
  • Rattan Hoop Earrings:  This pair of lightweight rattan hoop earrings is from Amazon and they go with everything!

coral tiered maxi dress - affordable maxi dress - striped tiered maxi dress - basket backpack - basket bag - raffia earrings - rattan earrings - raffia dream catcher earrings - mom friendly spring outfit - spring outfit

What I’m wearing above:

  • Coral Striped Tiered Maxi Dress:  I’m actually wearing this dress as I write this blog post!  It’s so lightweight and comfy and the perfect summer dress.  It comes in 5 other colors but I thought this coral and peach striped one was the most fun.  Definitely looks way more expensive than it is!
    • Sizing: true to size
    • Price: $29.99
  • Woven Raffia Mules:  These are a favorite from last spring.  The mules are made of woven raffia so they’re nice and neutral and go with everything.  I can’t recommend them enough.  I’m thinking of ordering a spare pair for once this current pair gets worn out.  They’re that good and can’t beat the price.
    • Sizing: true to size
    • Price: $24.99
  • Straw Basket Backpack:  I’ve had this bag for a few years (see it in this blog post from 2 years ago) and it’s the perfect basket bag option for a mom because it’s a backpack!
    • Price: $75, though it used to be $45 when I bought it 🙁
  • Raffia Dream Catcher Earrings:  I first saw these statement earrings a couple years ago on the girls of Palm Beach Lately and I ordered them as soon as they came back in stock.  They may be my most favorite earrings ever and I’ve worn them so much in the past year or so that I’ve had them.  They’re neutral in color so the go with everything and the raffia adds fun texture.  They aren’t too heavy either.
    • Price: $88

camo tshirt - white jeans - spring outfit ideas - mom friendly outfit - how to style a camo shirt - spring style

What I’m wearing above:

  • Camo T-Shirt:  I never thought I’d wear camo without it being for my job in the Army, but look at me now, lol.  I love the fit and coloring of this shirt so much!
    • Sizing:  I always size up 1 size in these Old Navy t-shirts, even though my normal size fits just fine.
    • Price:  $14.99
  • White Jeans:  I’m not quite back in my pre-pregnancy shorts or pants yet so I decided to buy some new white jeans for the body I have now.  These are nice and stretchy and I like the high rise and ankle length.  Distressed a little but not too much.  Really great postpartum pants, so many of you recommended the Old Navy Rockstar Jeans!
    • Sizing:  true to size, but I sized up 2 sizes for my current postpartum body
    • Price: $35 at the moment
  • Woven Raffia Mules:  These are a favorite from last spring.  The mules are made of woven raffia so they’re nice and neutral and go with everything.  I can’t recommend them enough.  I’m thinking of ordering a spare pair for once this current pair gets worn out.  They’re that good and can’t beat the price.
