I’ve been using Beautycounter’s new Countertime anti-aging skincare line since early September and I wanted to share the results with you today, since the individual products are currently included in the Black Friday sale! I’ve been using the entire line almost exclusively when it comes to skincare (minus the Soft Cream (day cream) because I found it a bit heavy for my oily skin), with the addition of the Overnight Resurfacing Peel every other night in lieu of the Countertime Radiance Serum. To read how I use each product within the Countertime collection you can read this blog post here where I share my recommendations on what to purchase during Beautycounter’s Black Friday sale, which runs 11/22/19 until 12/1/19. If you decide to purchase anything during this sale please select the “Stripes and Whimsy Pop-Up” box before you check out!
My Results from Using Beautycounter’s Countertime Collection
For background, I have oily skin and I’m 33 years old. I struggled with terrible cystic acne in my early 20s and did one round of Accutane when I was 23 years old. It helped me immensely, though it was incredibly hard on my body. I (thankfully) haven’t really struggled with acne since then, and am now primarily concerned with anti-aging because those pesky fine lines have started to make their appearance. I also have lived in Hawaii for nearly 6 years as an adult, so I have a good bit of sun damage, despite always wearing sunscreen. Additionally, I got terrible melasma (hyper-pigmentation) during my pregnancies with Jack and Caroline, so treating that was a huge concern of mine. The Overnight Resurfacing Peel really did the trick, and the addition of the Countertime line has helped it out even more. I haven’t gotten any melasma this pregnancy, which I attribute to the Beautycounter products I’m currently using. Everything from Beautycounter is pregnancy and nursing safe, which is important to me because I’ve been one or the other for nearly the past 5 years.
Ok now back to Countertime! Countertime is made with a plant-derived Retinatural Complex and it’s designed to visibly firm, brighten and plump the skin. The Retinatural Complex is made from two powerhouse plant-derived ingredients that provide comparable results to retinol but without the harmful side effects like skin irritation and increased sun sensitivity. The first ingredient is Bakuchiol, which is native to India and derived from seeds of the plant Psoralea corylifolia. Bakuchiol has been used in traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic skincare remedies for centuries. The second ingredient is Swiss Alpine Rose, which is renowned for its remarkable ability to protect itself against dehydration and other environmental stressors at the highest altitudes of the Swiss Alps. The line includes 6 different products, and I’ve been using the Cleansing Oil, Hydrating Essence, Radiance Serum, Supreme (night) Cream and Eye Cream since September 7, 2019 (so for just over 3 months). I’ve tried the Soft Cream but found it a bit to oily for daytime use for my skin-type.
Here is my “before photo,” which I took on September 7, 2019 before starting the Countertime line:

All of the above photos were taken first thing in the morning in natural sunlight and they have not been edit at all. While the results may not be extremely dramatic (since I had already been using the Overnight Resurfacing Peel and Beautycounter’s previous anti-aging Rejuvenating line for about a year) I think some more of my discoloration has faded, my skin looks supple and bright, and some of my fine lines don’t look quite so defined. (Though I am over 8 months pregnant in this last photo and my face definitely looks fuller than it did in the first photo. I also desperately need to pluck my eyebrows, lol) I’m very happy with the results and will continue using this collection without hesitation. I love that it’s pregnancy and nursing safe so I don’t have to worry!
