How to Wear a Leopard Sweater Blazer 5 Ways

Every year I like to add a couple items to my wardrobe that will stand the test of time.  Classic, timeless, simple pieces that are well made and versatile are the best fall purchases because you’ll be able to wear them year after year.  I shared my timeless fall wardrobe must-haves last year, but this year I’m adding a leopard sweater blazer to the list.  While it may seem like a bit of a bold piece, I promise that the J.Crew leopard print sweater blazer has a spot in every woman’s closet.  Leopard acts as a neutral so you can wear it so many different ways!  Not sure how to wear it?  Keep on reading to see 5 ways I’ve styled this must-have piece!

sizing info:

I’m normally a small at J.Crew but I sized down to an XS in this leopard sweater blazer.  I don’t mind an oversized fit in the solid colors (my blush one is a small), but I didn’t want to look like I was being swallowed by a leopard 🙂

Now keep in mind that I’m 6 months pregnant and live in Hawaii so most of my fall clothes are packed away or don’t fit me at the moment.  These 5 looks were pulled together easily with basic items that you probably already have in your closet (or at least something similar)!

5 Ways to Style a Leopard Sweater Blazer for Fall

#1.  WITH OLIVE TEE, WHITE DENIM & LOAFERS

Yes, you can wear white jeans after Labor Day!  These are maternity jeans from H&M that don’t seem to be available anymore, but just use whatever white jeans you own and you should be good to go.  (This pair and this pair are great options if you aren’t pregnant.)  Under the sweater blazer just wear an olive green top, which is also a neutral so it works with the leopard.  Mine is a tank from Walmart that’s only available in stores, but this short sleeve t-shirt and this long sleeve t-shirt would be great options too, especially if you don’t live in Hawaii!  My sand colored loafers were bought at J.Crew back in 2013 when I lived in DC and I still love them as much as I did back then.  Such a staple in my closet (when I don’t live in Hawaii, haha).  This pair is similar but doesn’t have fringe.

#2.  WITH YOGA PANTS, CHAMBRAY SHIRT AND LOAFERS

Y’all know my love for my Amazon yoga pants runs deep!  They were a staple on our spring trip to Asia and as long as you cover your bum then they’re pretty easy to dress up.  For this look I added a chambray shirt (mine is super old from J.Crew but here and here are some very similar options) and loafers.  My loafers are old from J.Crew too but here is a similar pair (I swear by J.Crew and J.Crew Factory shoes).

#3.  WITH BLACK SHIRT DRESS & WEDGES

Need an office look?  This is a great one!  Shirt dresses are super comfy, effortless and great for layering with a sweater.  Mine is old from J.Crew Factory but here is a casual and cheap version, here is one with a cute stand-up collar, and here is a fit and flare option.  My Tory Burch wedges were my very first Tory purchases back in 2011, but they’re really comfy and a great option if you want a little height.  Here is a black suede pair of heels that has a kitten heel and they’re very similar (and much cheaper) than my favorite go-to heels.

#4.  WITH WHITE TEE, JEANS & MULES

Not gonna lie, I’m glad it’s warm here so I don’t have to wear jeans while pregnant.  They just aren’t very comfy to me, or maybe I just don’t have a very good pair (old from Target).  I bought them back in 2017 when I was pregnant with Caroline and pulled them out for this photo.  Just grab your favorite pair of skinny jeans and you’re good to go (these are my favorite non-maternity jeans that I wore in Asia and they never stretched out).  On top you could wear a white tank (mine is from Walmart but this maternity t-shirt is very similar in fit without any shirring), a short sleeve t-shirt or a long-sleeve t-shirtMy mules are my favorite and most used Target purchase from this spring.  They seriously go with everything (also available in black) and if your size is still available I’d snag them to wear them when the weather gets warm again next year.

#5.  WITH BLACK SWING DRESS, CAMEL BAG & SHOES

This is a super comfy outfit that looks pulled together even though it’s nice and comfy.  My t-shirt dress is old from Walmart but I’ve linked some similar options below.  My Tory Burch sandals are super old but the camel color plays really well with black (here is the current pair).  My Hobo Bag (gifted back in 2016) is the same camel/brown color so it ties in well with this black and camel look (here is the current version).

Which look is your favorite?  I’m partial to look 2 but would wear all 5 in a heartbeat!  I wish I fit into more clothes so that I could give you more options on how to wear a sweater blazer…it’s seriously such a versatile piece!!  If you like this kind of post please let me know!  And if you have an item you’d like me to style in a future post I’d love to hear that too 🙂

I love these looks! I also love how you’ve managed to incorporate maternity and non-maternity clothes in here. I’m pretty sure I need that leopard sweater blazer in my life now, plus a few other things.
