Last week my friend Kait shared photos from her visit to the Waimanalo Country Farms sunflower field and that spurred me to immediately add that to our weekend to-do list.
outfit details:
jumpsuit (old from Zara but lots of cute jumpsuits are linked below and this one is the most similar!) | sun hat | sunglasses (similar here and here) | sandals (I wear a women’s size 8 and get the big kid size 6. These come in lots of colors!) | Caroline’s shoes (she is obsessed with the glitter) | Jack’s shoes | Jack’s shorts (Zara and H&M are my favorite for boys’ shorts because they are shorter)
Summer Jumpsuits and A Trip to the Waimanalo Country Farms Sunflower Field
It’s about an hour from our house so it was a bit of a drive, but I think Waimanalo Country Farms does a really great job of making simple activities for kids and honestly it was just nice to get out of the house and do something different. This is also where we go to the pumpkin patch in October and it’s even more hopping (and crowded) at that time of year. That’s definitely worth a visit too, just make sure you go early.
The flowers have probably already died at this point, but if you’re local to Oahu and looking for a great photo opp and fun morning then definitely add this to your list next time the flowers are blooming (they make announcements on their facebook page). We took pictures with the flowers, the kids rode a little “cow train” pulled by a tractor, Tom and I ate grilled corn and drank lemonade, and the kids enjoyed looking at some of the farm animals (they set up a full petting zoo in the fall!). There were also pony rides but Jack wasn’t interested.
I wore a new jumpsuit I bought at Zara a few weeks ago and even though it’s non-maternity it is perfectly designed for a growing bump (I’m at 16 weeks in these photos). I paired it with my “adventure sandals” (aka saltwater sandals) that are cute yet they’re great for getting dirty or wet. I wear these sandals on hikes too and kind of treat them as a cute alternative to Tevas lol. The kids wear this brand too! (These and these are ones Caroline wears and these are the ones Jack wears.) I also wore my favorite sun hat that I now own 3 off (I have the hats with a navy ribbon and a striped ribbon too). It’s just so cute and I loved that it’s adjustable so you can make it fit perfectly. Nothing worse than a hat that blows off your head on a windy day.
It was a really fun morning and then we drove home along the rugged coastline past Eternity Beach, Makapu’u Lighthouse and Hanauma Bay. It’s always so breathtaking seeing this side of the island. Here are some other jumpsuits that I really like right now too (lots are nursing friendly because of the buttons)! Just click on the image and it’ll take you right to the site.
