Hi everyone! Just wanted to stop by and share some things that I’m really into these days. I haven’t done a round-up post in a while so here are 5 random things I currently like: a bag, a tv show, a recipe, an Etsy shop, and blue and white ombre pumpkins. What has caught your eye lately?
-My birthday is coming up next month and Tom just ordered me a present that I have been wanting for months and months. It’s this big monogrammed weekender bag that has such a timeless look and it will be perfect for weekend trips or as a carry-on bag. I got the bag exactly how it looks here, with the classic round monogram. I can’t wait to use it once he gives it to me on my birthday! And yes, a little birdie (me) told him about it to help him with the gift buying process. Normally I can’t think of anything when he asks what I’d like for birthdays and Christmas so I’ve been keeping a running list whenever something catches my eye. This light blue Vineyard Vines Yeti is also on the list (we’ll see if Tom reads my blog or not haha).
-We’re currently watching Patriot on Amazon Prime and it is such a good show. The blurb about the show is: “to prevent Iran from going nuclear, intelligence officer John Tavner must forgo all safety nets and assume a perilous “non-official cover” — that of a mid-level employee at a Midwestern industrial piping firm.” Basically every possible thing that could go wrong does go wrong while he’s on this assignment, and he just takes it without complaining and fixes things over and over again. It’s incredibly well done and even though it’s a drama it’s also really funny. This is a genre of show I’m not typically drawn to, but Tom had already watched all of it and thought it was so good that he’s now making me watch it with him. Seriously, it’s amazing. If you’re looking for a show to watch with your spouse I’d definitely recommend Patriot. There is currently only one season but I really hope they make a second one.
-My childhood friend Marianna recently opened an Etsy shop sharing some of her beautiful calligraphy. The shop is called Penn and Parchment (her oldest’s name is Penn) and she has a wonderful assortment of beautifully written Bible verses. I especially love this one of Proverbs 31:25 that says “she is clothed with strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future” and this one of John 1:16 that says “grace upon grace.” She also can do custom calligraphy, so if you’re looking for something unique please keep this sweet momma of 3 in mind!
-A friend of mine shared this recipe that they tried recently and I have not been able to stop thinking about it since I saw it. It’s sheet pan harissa chicken + veggies with lemon aioli from The Defined Dish. It has all the roasted veggies I love especially in the fall (even though it isn’t really fall here in Hawaii): roasted cauliflower, brussels sprouts, carrots and onions and the fact that it’s flavored with harissa is just icing on the cake. I’ve been craving that stuff lately for some reason and cannot wait to try this out!
-I loved this post by Chelsea of Making Home Base about decorating seasonally without changing your home’s color palette. I mean, these blue and white pumpkins are perfection!
I am loving those blue and white pumpkins! So fun!
