I’m a shorts and t-shirt kind of girl but over the past few months I’ve gotten pretty tired of the plain tees I’ve been wearing for over 6 years straight. I seriously bought the majority of them when I lived in Hawaii last time (2009-2012) so it was definitely time for a t-shirt overhaul. During the J.Crew Factory 4th of July sale I stocked up on a few t-shirts that have little details that make them a bit less boring than all my old shirts (they’re having a BOGO sale now so take a look if you’re in the market for some new t-shirts!). Different necklines, different hem lengths, and interesting details like ruffles or ties give them some personality and I’m a big fan of all of them already! I’ve also bought a bunch of things at Walmart lately (don’t roll your eyes! Their Time and Tru line has some really great J.Crew look-alikes), although only one t-shirt and I’d highly recommend snagging it. It’s only $5 and fits really nicely. I have the white version but there are some colored versions too, although they kind of look ombré so I haven’t tried any of them on. (I’m going to do a post about the things I’ve found at Walmart lately. I’ve shared many of the things on my Instagram Stories so I’d love for you follow me there if you aren’t already!) I’m also including some of the non-t-shirt tops I’ve purchased lately because they’re great and I can’t keep a good thing a secret.
Anyway, here are the tops I’ve purchase recently that I bet you’d love too!
Y’all know I’m a sucker for stripes and I really like how this shirt is a little different from your standard t-shirt. Sizes are limited but snag it if you can! The slit on the back surprised me but you can’t really see much, as you can see in the photos above. I sized down to an XS.
I looooove this top. It looks great tucked into a pair of high-rise shorts (like these scallop hem ones), would be adorable tucked into a skirt like this, and it also looks cute untucked. I love that it’s a t-shirt and not dress-shirt material, so it’s nice and comfy but looks a little dress. A great way to elevate a simple white t-shirt. I sized down to an XS.
I ordered this top in navy because it wasn’t fully stocked in white (it is now though!). Tie-front tees are super popular now and I’ve been a little hesitant to jump on board. I’m all in now though! I sized down to an XS.
This tank top is totally sold out online but check your local Walmart to see what they have because I’ve been to two and they’ve been fully stocked. It’s only $5 in stores right now and I doesn’t feel cheap at all. I’m wearing a Small in the photo above.
This top is darling on and I can’t wait to pair it with some white jeans. I don’t often wear tanks with skinny straps because I don’t really like to wear strapless bras, but these straps are just thick enough that I think I can get away with wearing a regular bra with it. I ordered my regular size Small.
I love a classic button down shirt and eyed this one for a while before purchasing it. It looks best with the sleeves rolled 3 or 4 times and I plan on pairing it with high-rise shorts or jeans. I ordered my regular size Small.
This isn’t a shirt but I had to include it because it is sooooo good. I saw lots of bloggers rave about the J.Crew sweater blazer last winter so was excited to snag this on sale. It’s so comfy and has giant pockets and will work with so many different outfits. I highly recommend this one if you need a good staple sweater! I ordered my regular size Small.
