Can you believe it’s almost Christmas? My mom and dad are in Hawaii with us now and even though it’s 80 degrees and sunny here it’s really starting to feel like the holidays. All the palm trees are covered in lights (one of my most favorite things ever), the hotels are decked out in Christmas décor and I even ate some peppermint gelato last night which was pretty delicious. Yesterday we checked off one of the things that has always been on my Hawaii to do list: rent a pontoon boat and go to the Kaneohe Bay sandbar. It was a rather cloudy day but oh my goodness it was still breathtaking. The water is about 3 feet deep and it was so much fun to just float around (although it was rather cold!). Caroline took a good nap when we were anchored and the rest of us had fun taking turns swimming. We went out with my blogger-friend-turned-real-life-friend Kait Hanson (check out her blog CommuniKait, she’s awesome!) and her husband and we had such a wonderful time.
My style has always been on the preppy side and I’m excited to share this laid-back yet classic look with you today. This pompom cover-up was a $15.99 Amazon Prime find! I bought it in navy to see if I liked it and now I may just have to order it in every color because I love it so much. I paired it with these gorgeous pearl earrings from Julie Vos, which I think these may become my new go-to earrings for daily life. They’re the large Penelope studs which have 12mm pearls and the prettiest gold details on the base. It’s funny, because 20 seconds after I walked out of the hotel room someone said to me “I love your earrings and cover-up! They go perfectly together.” That random compliment from a stranger made my day so I had a little extra pep in my step the whole time I was wearing the ensemble. I also have the Penelope Cap & Post Pearl earrings which I can’t wait to style in a future post. They’re the perfect drop length to make a statement but not get in the way while chasing a toddler.
Be sure to check out how my Mommy Monday crew styles their Julie Vos pieces!
