Today I’m excited to share another #MommyMonday post with you! My girls and I teamed up with Colleen Rothschild to talk about the importance of taking care of your skin. The holidays are all about spending time with the ones you love, and that means lots of photos with your family and friends! Looking fresh faced is sometimes tough with babies and young children at home, but taking care of your skin can make you look younger, feel better and give you a little pep in your step even if you just spent 30 minutes cleaning toddler urine off the sofa like I just did (seriously…it was right after the pool and I guess he drank way more pool water than I thought because it just kept going and going…ugh).
I’ve always been a bit of a skin care nut and have been a dedicated face washer, mask user, pore strip fanatic and moisturizer/sunscreen wearer since middle school. I even started using Olay anti-wrinkle night cream when I was in high school. I smelled a bit like a grandma but I think that sticking with a skin care regimen for so long has helped my face age relatively well (I turn 31 tomorrow). 3 years spent living in Hawaii in my early 20’s brought on lots of sun damage though despite being a diligent sunscreen wearer (and we are here again for another 3 years so I’m trying to be more careful this time), and 2 back to back pregnancies brought a good bit of melasma across my forehead and upper lip. Unfortunately I can’t use anything too harsh to help treat these problems right now because I’m breastfeeding (I’m dying to try this Mandelic Acid Radiance Serum), but I found some wonderful products from Colleen Rothschild that I’m loving right now.
First up is this Dual Enzyme Polish. It’s seriously the best of both worlds because you apply it for 5 to 10 minutes (like a mask) and then it exfoliates because you scrub with the little microspheres that are left behind. This stuff leaves my face really soft and and bright.
Next up is this Vitamin C Treatment Complex. I’ve been using it in the morning and in the evening after I wash my face. Like I mentioned above, my skin is pretty uneven due to sun damage and melasma, so this potent form of Vitamin C helps improve natural radiance and clarity. I haven’t been using it for long but I think my face already looks brighter and I’m really hopefully it will help with my brown spots. (It gets fantastic reviews so I’m optimistic!)
The final Colleen Rothschild product I’ve been using is the Complete Eye Cream. I know that the eye area is one of the first places to show signs of aging so I’m not taking any chances. I’ve tried lots of different eye creams over the years and I like that this one is light enough (and not oily) for both morning and evening use. It’s supposed to combat wrinkles, fine lines, under-eye circles, puffiness and loss of elasticity so I think this may become a staple in my skin care routine.
This skin care line is definitely a splurge, but if you’re looking to upgrade your beauty routine from drug store items I highly recommend giving Colleen Rothschild a shot. They have an awesome Black Friday deal going on right now, so just use code BFRI30 from now until November 26th to get 30% off when you check out! This line also makes great holiday gifts, so keep that in mind 🙂
