I’ve had so much fun working on Caroline’s nursery. It really is my favorite room in the house. I made a driftwood and felt ball mobile for Jack’s room before he was born (you can see that DIY post here) and I knew I wanted to do something similar for Caroline’s room.
I ordered felt balls from Hello Maypole again (they have so many fun color combinations) and this time I used a mix of felt balls from the watermelon and lollipop sets. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to hang the felt balls on, but I knew it needed to be something tropical and fun. Luckily I had a few faux monstera leaves so I pulled off the plastic part of the stems and used the remaining wires to wrap the two leaves together. I strung the balls on some white and gold baker’s twine that I bought in the Target dollar spot years ago (using a Chenille needle which has a larger eye than a normal needle), making sure to vary the lengths and number of balls on each string. I simple pulled each strand of balls through different holes on the leaves and secured it with hot glue on the top. Once all the strands were secure I tied fishing line to the mobile and attached it to an eye we screwed into the ceiling. The whole thing was super easy and quick to make and I love the way it pulls her tropical garden nursery together.
