We’re nearing the end of our time here in Kansas, but that doesn’t mean that I could resist a little spring refresh in the dining room. I’ve been so anxious for plants to come back to life and for things to turn green, so green seems to be my go-to color right now.
For a quick new look I simply added fresh flowers in a few small vases to the dining table, grouped some white candles in an old bread bowl, and bought some new placemats that kind of echo the natural look I’m into right now (they’re the SAMTLIGA placemat from IKEA and only $2.99 each). I also really love the SOARÉ placemat but decided I should only buy one new set.
On the mantel I brought in some plants I’ve had for about 8 months that I somehow haven’t killed yet (that’s elephant’s foot on the right and pothos on the left and they are both super easy to care for), and put two faux monstera leaves that I got from IKEA in a ginger jar. I normally hate any type of fake plant, but these look so real that I gave them a pass. Maybe once we move to Hawaii I’ll bring in live monstera leaves because I know they will be way easier to find than they are here in Kansas.
What little things have you done to freshen up your home for spring? If you want to see how I’ve decorated this room over the past 10 months you can see my Halloween post here here, my Thanksgiving post here, my Christmas post here and a post from February here.
