I’m finally able to share a few photos of our new home! Jack’s nursery still needs a little bit of work but I’m loving this little reading nook that I created. I know that using Ikea picture ledges in a nursery is not a new idea…but it’s new to us and I really love having a spot to display some of the books that we’ve collected about places that are special to us. We have books from Hawaii, Paris, South Carolina, Maryland and Maine on the ledges, as well as a few other favorites.
I also hung a basket down a bit lower to hold the board books that we read often. I’ve had this basket for years but have never used it so I recently decided to spray painted it and hang it up. I love it’s new look and the functionality of it!
Here is the unremarkable “before” photo:
And “after”:
It really is amazing what a little spray paint can do. I used 2 coats of this blue paint and 2 coats of this top coat.
As you can see, I’ve also shared a little glimpse of the gallery wall I hung over Jack’s crib. I’ll reveal the full gallery wall in a later post!
Love this little nook! We created one too, and it is so handy to be able to just grab a book when sitting in the glider, isn't it? Great book suggestions too!
Thanks Leslie! And yes! The basket is soooo handy when you're sitting in the glider, and I can't believe I didn't think to use it sooner. Thanks for following along!
