Weekly Workout Recap

This past week was a big fat flop…which coincidentally is exactly how I feel.  My ankles have finally started puffing up and I don’t like it one bit.  4 (or so) weeks left of pregnancy and I’m ready and excited to welcome baby Vail into this world and then get this body back to normal.  I worked in the interior design office near Annapolis from 9 to 5 two days this past week and it makes me have so much respect for the women who continue working full time right up until they give birth.  I work on projects from home the majority of the time, and just two days in the office wore me out and derailed my workout plan.  I know I could have done a better job of forcing myself to get my heart rate up, but I just didn’t have the motivation to do so.

I’ve also gotten into the bad habit of eating cookies and ice cream before bed.  Not good!  Especially when I’m not burning many calories during the day.  I guess you can say that I’m “steering into the skid” even though I’ve resisted doing so for the past 35 weeks.  It’s hard to stay disciplined when you just keep growing and growing!

Big mums, big belly and a peek of running shoes at 35 weeks pregnant.

Anyway…here is the one “workout” I completed last week:

Wednesday, 9/30.  2.88 mile walk in 70 minutes.  Sooooo slow.  I felt a lot of pressure on my bladder though so didn’t feel like I could go any faster.  Baby is officially “head down” now, and I definitely feel it!

This next week I plan to get 5 workout sessions in.  I can’t let my fitness fall apart right at the very end of this thing, so I’m bound and determined to do “better” this week.

I hope you all have a great week!

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I've heard that nursing burns lots of calories so hopefully my body will bounce back like yours did. My mom told me that she weighed less after having me as well, so I'm hopeful 🙂 Thanks so much for following along!

Don't worry about getting back to "normal" too quickly! You will find a new normal as you adjust to having a new little man in your life. You will bounce back quickly since you've been so active during your pregnancy. Plus nursing burns lots of calories! I weigh less now than before I was pregnant.
