Weekly Workout Recap

Well it’s Tuesday so I’m a day late in getting this out…this past week has been crazy!  We had 7 days to move out of the old apartment and it truly did take all 7 days.  Lots of trips in our cars between the two places (thank goodness for old lululemon shopping bags, because they carried most of our junk), and one day with movers who helped us with the bigger stuff like the marble dining table, giant bookshelf, and sofa.  I could have been better at squeezing some workouts in, but that just was not a priority this past week.  I worked all day every day either moving or unpacking stuff, and I went to bed sore and tired every night…so I figure that’s good enough.

I’m 31 weeks pregnant now and still feeling pretty good.  My back gets tired now and my belly really hinders me when I’m unpacking boxes or trying to squeeze in between them.  I’m used to going going going until the job gets done, but now I have to take more breaks because I get tired and uncomfortable.  I still think pregnancy is an amazing experience, but to be honest, it feels like it’s dragging on and I’m ready for it to be over!  40 weeks is a long time and I can’t wait to meet my baby boy!  I need him to wait 9 more weeks though because this place is NOT ready for a baby yet and we still need to take childbirth classes, buy a carseat, assemble the crib…lots to do and it’s all so exciting!

Ok so here is the super short recap of my workouts this past week:

After my run while 1 day shy of 31 weeks pregnant.

Sunday, 8/30.  3.07 mile run in 39 minutes.  Morning run around the lake.  Only took one bathroom break and felt pretty good!  Starting to feel heavier and heavier but I’m happy I can still waddle semi-quickly down the road.  Tom ran 10 miles while I did my 3 miles, and I really miss running with him.  I can’t wait to get back to logging longer and faster runs with my hubby!

This week I’d like to workout 4 or 5 times.  I’m still unpacking boxes and getting organized so working out really isn’t at the front of my mind, but I know it’s important so I’m really going to try to make it more of a priority.

What are your workout goals this week?

I promised my husband that I would get back to some circuit training with him after my work trip to FL last week. And, I have done so when we are at the gym together, and this old body is feeling it! But, I needed the push. My goal is to continue that with him!

It looks like you're doing great! I'm so impressed you fit in a workout with your move. I'm 34 weeks and I've noticed that bending down is becoming much more of a feat, so kudos to you for handling everything like a champ!

Thanks for sharing, Jennifer, and great job on getting back to the gym! Getting started is the hardest part 🙂 I enjoy working out with my husband too, it's such a great way to spend quality time together.

Thanks so much, Leslie! I was starting to get stir crazy so I had to force myself outside for a run. I felt so much better once I got that in though. It's so easy to let fitness slip when you get distracted by other important things. I totally agree…bending over is hard! I normally just slip my running shoes on without untying them, but I couldn't quite get them on while bending over last week so I ended up sliding down to the ground to untie them and get them on. And then it was hard to get back up! I can't imagine 9 more weeks of this. I'm sure it's going to be downright impossible to bend over by the end! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy, and thanks for following along 🙂

🙂 I was still going to the gym everyday, I just had fallen off the weight training! I always do cardio and then was doing some classes.
