Vintage Crush: Brass Crab Trinket Box

You know those knickknacks you see that just call to you?  Well, not sure if that happens to you but it sure does happen to me!  (And now that I think of it, that’s probably why I own way too much stuff to fit in this apartment.)  Anyway, I found this cute little vintage brass crab a while back that I had to scoop up even though we already have a brass crab in our home that Tom bought on a trip to Hong Kong.  This particular one is different though, because the front claws can move and the shell lifts up so that it becomes a little trinket box (it was probably previously used as an ashtray but it doesn’t smell bad at all).

This guy is the perfect size to place on top of a stack of books or magazines on your coffee table, or it could be the perfect nautical touch if you love the beach as much as I do.  Currently, it’s for sale awaiting a good home over in my Etsy shop DashOfVintageWhimsy.  In my opinion, every home needs a mix of both old and new things because your home can’t tell much of a story if everything you own is brand new.  That’s why I’ve rounded up some pretty great items that will help you add a little dash of vintage whimsy to your home.  Happy vintage shopping, y’all!
