Personalized Wedding Gifts a Bride Will Actually Want
You know how when you’re a bride you are supposed to create a registry filled with all the things you and your future husband will need for your home? Well, I did this a while back before my wedding and while I loved every single thing I received off of it (obviously…because I picked everything out!!), some of my favorite gifts were the personalized items I never would have thought to register for. That being said…here are some suggestions for one of a kind gifts that a bride will actually want. Wedding season is right around the corner and it’s never to early to start thinking of the perfect gift!
Use the couple’s new monogram for this too! I got this from a friend for my birthday, but I think it would also make the perfect wedding gift!
3. Wedding Invitation Engraved onto Plate.
This is ideal if their invitation is really, really pretty and not overly wordy.
4. Engraved Family Heirloom.
We received a silver bowl from Tom’s parents that was given to them on their wedding day. It has their names and wedding date engraved on it, and now our names and wedding date are engraved on it too. Such a special gift!
5. Framed Invitation.
Give them this the morning of the wedding so it can be used in photographs on their big day! This is our wedding invitation, and it’s hung directly under my great grandmother’s old sheet music. You know I love family heirlooms!
Anyone who loves to cook will love a personalized cutting board. Consider adding couple’s monogram, or just the first letting of their last name (if the bride changes her name).
Y’all know I love a pretty tray. They are all over my house but I’m dying for a monogrammed one! Consider buying one for the bride with her new monogram (maybe she will use it as her jewelry tray), or use the couples’ new monogram and it’ll be perfect on their coffee table.
Now get out there and go design your bride-to-be friends the most unique wedding gifts they will receive this wedding season!
These are great ideas! I love the new personalized wedding hangers with initials or the bride's new last name, etc. I'm considering getting a friend one for her bridal shower. Here's a monogram etiquette question that I am currently struggling with, and perhaps you know the answer: what initial do you use when the bride/groom goes by a nickname that does not start with the same letter as his or her first name? For example, an Elizabeth that goes by Betty or a Robert that has always gone by Bobby.
I totally agree that personalization takes a gift to the next level!
Christie, I love the wedding hangers too! Unfortunately I wasn't given one before my wedding and I was too lazy and distracted to realize that I should order one for myself. As for the monogram etiquette…I'm not sure what to say when it comes to the nickname! I've read that if you're going the more formal route then you should use the full name initial, but if it's more casual then the nickname initial is fine. Great question though! I'd probably go with what looks prettier 🙂
I have a friend whose roommate just engaged to a member of the Army (a fellow West Point grad like yourself!). She is really struggling with what to get them as engagement/ wedding gifts as she understands they will be transient for years to come. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks for reading! Tell your friend to not feel limited when it comes to getting them a present. The Army pays for movers to move everything, and they normally do a great job of packing. I don't not buy things just because I think may get broken. I'd say choose whatever she thinks they will like and just go for it! (That being said, a monogrammed pillow or something that's not glass will be less likely to get damaged than something that's glass.) I hope that helps a little!
Katie where did you get the engraved plate?? I love it!

Thanks Katrine! Someone gave it to me at my bridal shower so I'm not sure where it's from. My guess is that it's probably from Things Remembered.

Hi Katie,
