Feminine Vintage Dress

I bought this feminine vintage dress a few months ago at Lucketts Store in Leesburg, VA.  It was a custom-made dress that the shop owner had recently bought in Germany, and it’s most likely from the 1950s or 1960s.  At the time of purchase the waist fit perfectly…but the top was a different story (apparently I’m not as blessed as the original owner).

I took it to a seamstress and she was able to take it in, and now it fits perfectly!  The brocade top is elegant and fitted, while the pleated bottom is flirty and fun!  I wore this to a wedding in Houston recently (on Valentine’s Day), and the flowy skirt made me feel like Liesl from the Sound of Music.  (Remember her dress from the leaping portion with Kurt inside the gazebo?  One of my favorite movie scenes of all time!)

I paired it with strands of pearls (I confess…they are not real but they still look pretty!), double pearl earrings from Bauble Bar, and my go-to J.Crew suede pumps.
