Do any of you have hand-me-down furniture? The family beach house came furnished, so we are getting creative with ways to update old and tired pieces while spending very little money. There was a large, beige wicker chair in the living room that I liked, but it just didn’t seem beachy enough so I whipped out the spray paint for a quick and cheap fix.

For now, I draped some striped beach towels over the cushions to hide the not-so-beachy upholstery. When I get a chance I’ll buy some fabric and create a quick and easy slip cover, but for now this temporary fix is good enough, and helps to completely change the look of this tired piece of furniture. This project truly was one that made a huge difference with minimal effort, so give it a shot if you have a wicker piece that needs a little dose of sass 🙂

Very pretty! I'm living vicariously through all of your DIYs since I don't have room for a lot of furniture. What kind of fabric are you thinking about?
