When I was a little girl I absolutely loved dresses. I was also a tomboy though, and I could always be found running around, getting dirty or climbing trees…while wearing a dress, patterned tights and shiny Mary-Janes. Looking back, I guess it isn’t so surprising that I ended up going to West Point, joining the Army AND starting a girly-girl blog.
I still love to dress up, and currently my favorite dress silhouette is the skater (fit-and-flare) dress. It is nice and fitted at the top, and the fuller skirt is perfect for twirling (and very forgiving if you eat a filling meal…we did our wedding food tasting this day, and after trying so many rich foods I’m very glad I didn’t wear a super form-fitting dress).

My hair and make up look prettier than normal because I had my trial run for the wedding earlier that day. Jen from Color Me Rad in Beaufort, SC is amazing! |

This is actually how most of the photos end up (with me making weird faces) when I try to do fashion posts. Being in front of the camera is so awkward! |

This is such a gorgeous dress! I love how you styled it, too — such fun earrings!
