The Future is Looking Bright…and Sparkly!

In a post last week I alluded to something that happened recently that I am extemely excited about.  So here it goes…drum roll please…Tom and I are engaged!!  We are overjoyed and are looking forward to starting a full and happy life together.  The wedding will be in Beaufort, South Carolina this fall, and I’m already working with some amazing and talented indiviuals who will help make our wedding a joyous and magic celebration.

While we were down in South Carolina for the 4th of July we took some amateur (taken by my mother) engagement photos and I think they actually turned out pretty well despite the crazy weather (hurricane in the Atlantic plus terribly sticky, humid weather make for a rather miserable photo shoot, but I’m happy we were able to fit it in).  Didn’t Tom do such an amazing job on the ring?  I’ve always loved round cut diamonds because that’s what my mother has, but he surprised me with a gorgeous asscher cut diamond, and I’m completely smitten.  After doing a little research (and by that I mean searching for “asscher cut diamond” on Pinterest) I read that an asscher cut says that I’m “a trend-setter with a touch of vintage whimsy.”  Not sure about the trend-setter part, but you know I love a dash of whimsy!

I can’t wait to celebrate the big day!  And until then, I’ll be having a hard time looking away from the sparkly new addition to my ring finger!
