Color Combo Crush: Yellow and Blue

Is there any color combo that is more cheerful than lemon yellow and cobalt blue?

This Michigan lake house featured in House Beautiful has the perfect dose of yellow and blue.

I think the combination can sometimes look a little immature and sort of wimpy if the colors are not bold enough, but when it is done well with strong, saturated colors it looks crisp, cheerful and welcoming.

Both the sofa and the art in this room featured on Architectural Digest are extremely saturated.  It’s bold and I love it!

I truly think the key to success here is to not be afraid of color.  Don’t be scared to buy that bright yellow lamp or cover your sofa in a bold blue fabric!  Here are some of my favorite blue and yellow items right now.  They are the perfect touches to make a home nice and cheery.  Don’t forget to add a nice dose of white to make these fun colors pop!

I love that you said "wimpy" instead of using a euphemism. Haha.

This is a great color combination, and one that I had not thought of. Very bold and cheerful.

I love the green wall in the second pic! That is my favorite color, but it is not easy to decorate with.

Haha yeah I probably should have used a better word, but "wimpy" just kept coming to mind when I was looking for good inspirational rooms! Thanks for reading, Suheiry!

Yeah the green is such a bold choice isn't it? Very tricky but amazing when done well.
