Travel Collections: Jewelry

Welcome part 4 of my travel collection series.  Another thing I love to collect is jewelry.  My mom is much better at this than I am, and I actually stole this great idea from her.  She collects jewelry from street vendors, bazaars, and little boutiques whenever she travels.  Each item she buys tells a little story of where she’s been: Venetian glass jewelry from Venice, coral jewelry from Hawaii, colorful beads from Istanbul…I could go on and on.  It’s so fun to go through her jewelry and see what she’s collected.  The jewelry doesn’t have to be expensive, and honestly sometimes the cheap cocktail jewelry is way more fun than the fancy stuff anyways!

Dimitri bought me this when he went to Morocco.  It’s hammered metal and it has alligators on it.  I think it’s pretty neat.
Pearl necklace from Honolulu, turquoise ring from Santa Fe, Venetian glass necklace from Venice, dainty pearl and seashell bracelet from Sand People in Honolulu, and the metal cuff from Morocco.

Check back in tomorrow for the final part in this series!  If you haven’t already, check out my other travel collections: art, wine stoppers and dish cloths.

Such gorgeous pieces, altho' having a jewelry boutique I don't tend to buy too much when traveling to faraway places. Do pop over to my blog, I put some new pieces up on my latest post 😉

Love the bangle from Morocco (I've always wanted to go there)! I've got a similar one from friends who lived in Afghanistan – it's one of my favs!

Another easy, fun thing to collect is salt and pepper shakers!
