Christmas ornaments in three unexpected ways

Sparkle and shine!  How can you not love these Christmas ornaments?

Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year for many reasons (family time, pretty decorations, great food, and most importantly, the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ)!  Decorating for Christmas is always really exciting for me, and I love adding Christmasy dashes of whimsy in unexpected places all over my apartment.  I’m an absolute sucker for shiny and sparkly bright colors, so this year all my spare ornaments are ending up in places other than the tree (shown here!)!

1.  I decided to forgo the traditional green Christmas wreath this year, and made my own wreath with colorful Christmas ornaments.  I hot glued lots of ball ornaments from Wal-Mart to a foam wreath, and just kept adding layers and filling in the gaps with smaller ornaments.  To top off the look, I strung ornaments on a piece of ribbon to create my own ribbon garland to decorate the door frame.  Once I was done stringing the ornaments, I cut 3 small pieces of ribbon and tied a loop in the center of the garland and one on either side to make hanging it easier.  To hang it, I simply attached three 3M hooks to the door frame (one on either side of the and one in the center) and hooked the loops onto them.  Super easy, unique and fun!

2.  I normally keep this apothecary jar filled with glass fishing floats from Hawaii, and fun disco balls.  For Christmas though, I removed the fishing floats and added a bunch of ornaments!  This brightens up the top of my bookcase and makes my home a little more Christmasy!
3.  My C. Wonder gold polka dotted cake stand is too pretty to not be displayed, so I figured why not add some ornaments to it!  I loaded up this glass dome with some balls, and then added some more around the rim.  Christmas decorations in a dash!

Thanks Karen! They really are a piece of cake yet they add a lot of color and sparkle! The wreath took a bit of work, but I smile every time I see it, so it was definitely worth it 🙂 Thanks for reading!
