Striped Rug Love

After a bit of deliberation I decided on the perfect rug for my living room!

Rug Essential Criteria:

-8×10 feet
-Fun pattern
-Plays well with blue and white ikat and pink
-Works with my cowhide rug
-Not too crazy expensive

At first I thought I’d get this Ikea Stockholm rug because I liked that the stripes were a little quirky.  Turns out, they only sell it in they make it in 5’7” x 7’10” (too small) and 8’2” x 11’6” (too big), and it just wouldn’t work for my living room.

I eventually settled on this Crate and Barrel rug, with hope that it would work with the cowhide rug, and not be pattern overload next to my ikat couch and pink chairs.

The chunky black and white stripes are always a classic, and it provides contrast when paired with Bessy (cowhide rug).  It also works really well with the sofa and my wingback chairs, without making the living room seem too crazy or colorful.  I’m so happy with my choice, and I get a big smile on my face each time I walk in the door, even when I’m tired after work!  What do you think?
