This afternoon Tom and I went for our first run since running the marathon last Saturday. It was slow and a little painful, and less than a mile into it we ran by the flea market that sets up every Saturday in my neighborhood. I can never pass up a flea market, so we took a little pit stop. I found a few treasures that were there, including a painting, a little brass dachshund and a vintage book of Van Gogh paintings printed in France in 1949. The price was $20 for the painting, and $10 each for the book and the brass pup. I was able to get the vendor down to $30 for all three though, so I had to go for it. The painting is professionally framed in a nice gold frame, which is great and it saves me money because I won’t have to get it reframed. I adore original artwork, which is why I love to pick up pieces at thrift stores, flea markets and from artists on the street. We asked the man to hold the items for us so that we could finish our run, and 5 miles later we were back scooping up my treasures. I’m not sure where I’ll hang the painting yet, but the dachshund has already found a home guarding my entryway!
I LOVE that little dog!! Did you like the Home book? See their collection for CB2, I like a lot of it
Thanks Laurel! I do like the Home book, but think I like The Perfectly Imperfect Home, and Good Bones, Great Pieces better. Loved the color though, so I couldn't resist. Books are one of my favorite things to decorate with!
